De Montfort University, Beaumont Park

Friday, 23rd March 2018 De Montfort University, Beaumont Park

Following on from a number of successful contracts completed over the past 12 months for Taylor Pearson Construction, GRS have once again been appointed as the electrical contractor of choice for the De Montfort University; Beaumont Park Phase 2 - Club House Extension project. De Montfort University entered into a long lease with Leicester City Council in 2015 for the use of land at Beaumont Park, along with the existing clubhouse facilities and car parking.

Phase 1 of this project was completed in October 2016, where new FA standard football pitches were created, along with an extension to the existing clubhouse to provide additional changing room facilities. The improvements at Beaumont Park will help encourage greater football participation by the local community at junior, youth and adult level as well as help adult teams with their desire to play higher up in the football league structure.

The proposed phase 2 works are for the construction of a further 3G multi sports artificial turf pitch, accommodating sports including rugby, football, American football and lacrosse. Phase 2 will also involve further development of the existing clubhouse and changing facilities to provide a further 4 changing rooms, extended club lounge, creation of a new social space and internal reconfiguration of further existing spaces.

GRS will be carrying out the installation of full electrical services for this extension, including Distribution, Power, Lighting, Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm, CCTV, Data and TV/Radio systems. GRS will also be responsible for the provision of external cabling to serve the existing and proposed Pitch Floodlighting installations, the amenity road lighting scheme and electricity supplies to various external storage containers.
